Mariateresa Susca created the character design for Matilda and helped bring the world of The Healer's Blade to life in 2023 with the release of a prologue story that served as in introduction to the world. It was such an honor working with Terri and to deliver this book to all of you. However, Terri is unavailable to work on the series currently.
This leads me to the big news all of you are here for. I'm excited to announce that Noel Kelly will be taking over art duties for The Healer's Blade! Take a look at some of her amazing art below:
Noel will be providing an additional cover option for our upcoming campaign and plans to begin art for the preview pages by April or May. Skylar Patridge has also wrapped up inks for their variant cover. Stay tuned for art reveals and more news!
This comic series was my debut as a comic book writer. I started my first campaign for a comic book with a lot less knowledge and experience than I have now. Compared to the first campaign, we have 250% of total backers from the first campaign! This is my fifth successful campaign and only the beginning of a much busier year.
To celebrate, I added a tier that offers returning characters from the first issue to be in the book at a lower price, lowered the prices on a few of the other tiers including holo-chrome copies, and added a few new add-ons.
Based off of request, there is also a new digital deluxe catchup tier that includes digital deluxe copies of both Kid Cretaceous #1 + Kid Cretaceous #2! Take a look at the new options before the campaign ends in the next 12 hours.

I'm excited to reveal the concept for Skylar Patridge's variant cover for The Healer's Blade #1! This sketch is only the rough concept art and is not final. The completed cover art will feature a different color scheme with additional lighting and other details. I was able to bring my most successful comic book to life because of each and every one of you. I’m grateful to all of you for helping my stories find readers like you. So, I’m excited to announce the next variant cover artist joining the team for The Healer’s Blade #1: Skylar Patridge!
This was first revealed in my newsletter. Skylar is such a talented artist. They sent me three concepts that were all so cool. One of them made me really sad to pass up but we finalized which concept we were going with last week. I think I'll hold off sharing any concept art or peeks at this cover until the final reveal.
